BNP condemns target killing of Balochs in karachi

QUETTA, Jan 12: Balochistan National Party (BNP-Mengal) on Tuesday took out rallies in different towns of Balochistan including Quetta to protest the incidents of alleged target killing of Balochs in Karachi and demanded for immediate end of operation against them.

In Quetta, a protest rally led by Sajjid Tareen, the Vice President party marched through different streets of the city and culminated into a public meeting at Manan Chowk.

Participants of rally were carrying placards and banners bearing different demands. They were also shouting anti-MQM slogans.

Addressing on the occasion, Sajjid Tareen Advocate condemned the killing of innocent Balochs in Karachi with strong words and alleged that agents of secret agencies were forcing Baloch people to quit their historical land.

He said that rulers were trying to suppress Balochs. “We want to unmask the real face of rulers before the world who are oppressing Balochs and forcing them to quit their historical land”, he added.

BNP leader alleged that through a conspiracy massacre of Bengalis were carried out in 1970 but Bangladesh emerged as an independent country and conspirators lost their existence there.

He said that the history was being repeated in the guise of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and added that earlier Pashtoons and Sindhs were targeted and now the same conspirators were targeting Balochs.

Meanwhile, protest rallies were also taken out in other towns of Balochistan including Khzudar, Hub, Nushki, Mastung to condemn the killing of Balochs in Karachi by the activities of MQM.

They demanded of both the federal and Sindh governments to make impartial probe into the incidents and bring the culprits to justice.

Iran’s security forces kill 4 Komoleh terrorists

TEHRAN – Iran’s security forces have killed four members of the Komoleh terrorist group in an ambush in Western Azerbaijan Province.

The four terrorists had killed 3 police forces on December 31 on Mahabad-Miandoab road in northwestern Iran, the Intelligence Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Security forces tracked the four terrorists in a region near the town of Sardasht and killed them in armed clashes, the statement added.

The statement added that several Kalashnikov rifles and grenades were also seized in the operation.

Komoleh is a name for PJAK, (the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan). The terrorist group has been behind a string of terror attacks in northwestern Iran.

PJAK, which was branded as a terrorist organization by the United States in February last year, claimed responsibility for the killing of a local prosecutor in Khoy city in West Azerbaijan province on January 18.

Iran’s new destroyer sent on first mission

BANDAR ABBAS - Iran’s first domestically manufactured destroyer, the Jamaran, was sent on its first mission on Sunday after conducting maneuvers to display its capabilities.

The destroyer left Iran’s southern waters and headed toward the open seas to raise Iran’s flag in international waters on its maiden voyage.

The commander of Iran’s First Naval Zone, Rear Admiral Fariborz Qaderpanah, issued the order to start the mission to protect Iranian commercial vessels in international waters.

First, in an exercise, the warship’s weapons and guns were tested and a number of commandos rappelled down onto the deck. A helicopter landing and takeoff operation was also conducted.

Afterwards, a mock fire caused by a mock airstrike by hostile fighter jets was extinguished.

The Jamaran was launched in the Persian Gulf on Friday during a ceremony that Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei attended.

The warship can carry helicopters and is equipped with torpedoes and electronic radar. It is 94 meters long and weighs over 1,500 tons.

The destroyer is capable of engaging in surface, air, and undersea warfare

Great Baluchi vocalist Kamal Khan dies

The outstanding vocalist and poet of Baluchistan Kamal Khan Hout died of a weak constitution in his hometown early Sunday. He was 68.

Kamal Khan was taken to a hospital in Chabahar on Saturday night and was admitted to the CCU to receive medical treatment but died at 2am Sunday, the Persian service of MNA reported.

His style of singing was epical and heroic, part of the oldest styles of Baluch music, and was popular among the Baluchis.


“It is a great pleasure for me to attend the honoring ceremony of a prominent musician from Baluchistan, and I must admit that the music of the region has not been recognized and respected well,” vocalist Mohammadreza Shajarian had declared in a ceremony the Iranian Academy of Arts arranged to honor Kamal Khan in 2007.

Kamal Khan never went to school but was able to read and write and always carried a notebook with him. He used to write his own poetry and poems by others in his notebook. He had a very good memory that surprised many people.

Musician Mohammadreza Darvishi had also described Kamal Khan as a grand singer in the true sense of the term in the Baluchistan region. This is true Darvishi said, “Because not only is he a great singer, but also an eminent poet who helped preserve the intangible history and ancient culture of the region.”

“There are many musicians and singers in Baluchistan who are number one in technique, but I dare say the singing techniques of Kamal Khan are unique compared to other styles in several other regions. Kamal Khan has a close relationship with the literature of Baluchistan. He is actually important, since he is a narrator of culture and civilization through the music of Baluchistan,” Darvishi once mentioned.
